OBJECTIVES OF THE CENTER

• Informing farmers of the new agricultural techniques developed by the research institutions, even ensuring application and adoption of those techniques by motivating farmers,
  
  
• Providing feedback to the relevant research institutions on farm level results obtained from the application of new agricultural techniques developed by them,
  
  
• Informing research institutions on actual problems of the farmers and making contributions to their directing their resources towards solving those problems.
  
  

DUTIES OF THE CENTER

• Introducing new agricultural techniques to the farmers and ensuring their adoption through cooperation with research institutions particularly with Ç.U. Faculty of Agriculture,
  
  
• In close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Works, making contribution to in-service training programs for the staff particularly those working at provincial and district organizations of the Ministry,
  
  
• Arranging and participating national and international congresses, symposiums, seminars and similar meetings on issues related to agricultural extension,
  
  
• Producing and procuring films, slides, magazines, brochures and similar materials that can be used for extension purposes in agriculture,
  
  
• Developing and implementing projects addressing development of the skills of the farmers and farm families dealing with agriculture in rural areas and cooperating with foreign institutions for that purpose when required
  
  
• Informing relevant research units of the University of technical and socio-economical problems of rural areas diagnosed by the staff of the Center, following-up those issues and informing rural people of the helpful results obtained.
